O dschipen - Life

Four musicians, four paths, and one shared passion.

When Piruschka Triska, a singer from a long line of musicians and artists, and the experienced pianist Peter Janton share the stage, the soul of Gypsy music resonates in its most beautiful form. The two have presented their musical passions to enthusiastic audiences at festivals throughout Europe; music knows no boundaries here as Piruschka sings in a variety of the world's languages: German, English, French, Russian, Portuguese, Spanish and, of course, her native Romani -- and, as if that weren’t enough, the Viennese dialect.

Barbara Hennerfeind and Erik Weisenberger – presiding deities of the duo Agua y Vino – add yet another dimension to this musical mosaic with their warm sounds and unmistakable fervor for Ibero-American music. Spanish flamenco, guitar music and South American folkloric elements combine to create a vibrant musical experience of rhythm, emotion, and even cultural history.

Now, Piruschka, Peter, Barbara and Erik are uniting in a new project:

"O dschipen – Life"

An evening brimming with emotion, virtuosity, and joie de vivre – a sweeping tapestry woven from global sound and story.

Music that connects. Stories that touch the heart.

This is where heart and art rhyme… and ignite in a performance fueled by passion and experience.

Piruschka Triska:
From a childhood spent immersed in her family’s music and writing lyrics and poetry since the age of 13, Piruschka Triska seemed destined for the stage. Early on, her father introduced her to the diverse instrumentation of the family band, teaching her the double bass, guitar, and piano. This formative training propelled her career, leading her to perform numerous concerts as a singer with various ensembles on major festival stages across Europe. Today, with a commanding stage presence, she effortlessly sings her way directly into the hearts of her audience.

Peter Janton:
Poland-born Peter Janton, Piruschka’s long-time stage partner, first established himself playing percussion. He soon expanded his repertoire to master the piano, eventually becoming the versatile, consummate musician he is today. With decades of experience, Peter is a sought-after soloist and accompanist, specializing in the rich traditions of Gypsy ensembles.
